Preparing OBJ Model Files for Upload to Vektor.io

  1. Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the folder containing the files related to your 3D model (for example: .obj, .mtl, .jpg, .xyz).

  2. Compress all model-related files directly into a ZIP file:

    • Select the individual files only — do not include the folder itself.

    • Create the ZIP file directly from the selected files so that the compressed file does not contain any folder structure.

  3. Change the file extension of the ZIP file to .objzip:

    • To show file extensions in File Explorer, go to the top menu: View → Show → File name extensions.

    • Rename the file, for example, to model.objzip.

  4. Upload the finished .objzip file to Vektor.io.

Important Notes

  • The ZIP file must not include any folder structure.

  • Avoid using special characters, Scandinavian letters (ä, ö, å), or spaces in file names.

  • Do not rename the internal files. For example, the .mtl file references other files by their names. Renaming them may prevent the model from working correctly.
