2. Open the Cut & Fill tool
Open the Cut & Fill tool from the Bottom toolbar. The tool is activated immediately after selection.
Define the calculation area
Define the area where volumes will be calculated.
Click the left mouse button to set corner points
Close the area by clicking the right mouse button
The calculation is performed:
within the user-defined area, or
automatically based on the reference surface boundaries
4. Volume calculation and visualization
Once the area is defined, Vektor.io:
automatically starts the calculation
calculates both cut and fill volumes
The results are visualized in the view:
Cut areas are shown in blue
Fill areas are shown in red
This visualization makes it easy to interpret the results.
5. Results
The results include:
surface area
cut and fill volumes (m³)
The Sample width value indicates the size of the calculation cubes used:
larger areas use a larger sample width
smaller areas use a smaller sample width
The value affects calculation accuracy and adjusts automatically based on the area size.
6. Saving the results
We recommend saving the results to the view so that:
they can be reviewed later
the data can be reused for planning or reporting purposes
