Viewing Models in AR on Mobile Devices

Vektor.io allows you to visualize model data on mobile devices combined with the real-world environment.

Requirements for AR

• Android users: AR works directly in Chrome.

• iOS users: AR requires the separate WebXR Viewer browser.

Log in to Vektor.io in your mobile browser at:
 https://projects.vektor.io/

 

Starting AR Mode

1. On the map, make the models visible that you want to view in AR.

   • Tip: Choose models that have clear reference points in the real environment to help with alignment.

2. Tap the AR button in the bottom left corner of the mobile interface.

Aligning the Model

1. The app will first ask you to select two reference points on the model.

   💡 Tip: Press and hold your finger to bring up the crosshair, which makes it easier to select corner points.
   

2. After selecting two points, tap the Enter AR button that appears at the top of the screen.
   

3. Next, select the matching two reference points in the real-world environment.

   💡 Tip: Use the transparency slider at the bottom of the screen to make alignment easier.
   

4. The model will then be positioned based on the selected reference points.
   You can continue adjusting the model’s transparency with the bottom slider as needed.
